PFG - Sr. Software Engineer Notes
Reason for Opening / Business Impact
- Team is undergoing a large migration effort to move an existing system to a new custodian
- Custom-built rebalancer application requires updates and enhancements to support the new custodian
- Multiple components are being migrated into a managed AWS VPC environment
- Application is functioning today, but significant modifications are needed to support future-state architecture and integrations
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Coding, testing, and migration of AWS components
- Working alongside senior engineers on project execution
- Supporting Java repositories and remediating security vulnerabilities
- Production support activities including database queries and troubleshooting
- Assisting with cloud infrastructure migration efforts
- Collaborating across teams to support delivery timelines

Ideal Candidate Profile
- 7+ years of experience
- Strong AWS cloud engineering background
- Hands-on Java microservices and Spring Boot experience
- Comfortable supporting production systems and troubleshooting issues
- Experience working in Agile engineering teams
- Ability to work through aggressive timelines and shifting priorities
Team Structure / Culture Current team consists of:
- 2 Senior U.S.-based engineers
- 2 PGS team members
- 1 contractor starting this week
- 2 additional open contractor positions

- Some interaction possible with RIS and other internal departments
