Position Overview:
In this role, you will lead and provide direction for the accounting and controls activities for Polaris' Off-Road Vehicles business, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong governance across a complex, global operation. You will set strategy, partner closely with cross-functional leaders, and serve as a key member of Polaris' global controllership team. You will also shape internal controls, support decision-making, and help the organization manage financial risk. This is a compelling opportunity to influence a major business unit while driving meaningful improvements in financial processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set the accounting and control strategy for the Off-Road Vehicles business and maintain a strong global control environment.
• Oversee operational accounting activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient financial close processes, including data collection, analysis, accounting, and reporting.
• Ensure integrity of monthly accruals, reporting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and related analysis.
• Collaborate with business teams to ensure proper accounting for operational changes and maintain sound end-to-end controls across Engineering, Operations, FP&A, and Commercialization.
• Interpret and apply global accounting policies, partnering with the Assistant Corporate Controller on policy revisions and exception requests.
• Design, implement, and enhance internal controls to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, internal policies, and local regulations.
• Drive process improvements across accounting systems, tools, and workflows.
• Lead, develop, and engage team members to support high performance and collaboration.
• Manage internal and external audit requests and partner during financial audits.
• Build relationships and share best practices with other Polaris controllers through participation in the Controller Leadership Team.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience. Public accounting and/or manufacturing industry experience required.
• Public accounting and/or manufacturing industry experience.
• CPA strongly preferred; MBA a plus
• Expertise in U.S. GAAP and internal control implementation.
• Experience with financial reporting systems and process improvement.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including experience supporting change management and risk mitigation.
• Minimal travel required (approximately 5-10%, depending on business need).

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $135,000 to $170,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
